Silhouette Nature
Located in a marine national park, Silhouette is home to a huge diversity of indigenous fauna and flora. Rare species on the island include the incense tree and sheaf tailed bat. The highest summit is Mount Dauban (740m), which is surrounded by a virgin rain forest full of botanical treasures such as the rare pitcher-plant, orchids, rare hardwoods and incense tree. The island's Giant Tortoise sanctuary is home to some individuals that are over 120 years old. The Nature Protection Trust of Seychelles (NPTS) has been engaged as a consulting organization in Labriz's efforts to preserve and promote the prosperity of Silhouette Island's biodiversity.
